These are plantar warts commonly found on the sole of the foot.
The condition is caused by the human papilloma virus which thrives in warm, moist conditions, such as swimming pools and communal showers, thus verrucae are EASILY caught but can be very DIFFICULT to cure.
They can be particularly painful when on a pressure point of the foot and are often seen as a lump with a black centre.
